This week I have worked on two different trays but they are very simular. In Sculpture 1 they had a mini lesson were they painted the unfired tray black (or any other under glaze color) and then scratched and image away. This is called scraffito! The first tray had a feather with birds coming out of the feather, to me it represents freedom (which is fitting since graduation is right around the corner). The image on this blog is what I based it off of. The second tray is an elephant, I choose the elephant because it's my best friend favorite animal, and I plan to give it to her. The trays took most of this week but I had some time to work on the main project. I'm still painting toliet paper rolls silver... It's taking so long. Next week I should be glazing the two trays.
